Many people wanted Jesus to become a hero, but he came to be a Savior. He told his disciples about his death and resurrection. They didn’t like it and didn’t get it. But then he went on to say that his way of life would be a pattern for his followers. They would die and be raised. The only way to save your life is to lose it for him. The value system of life for a Christian is completely different from the world. Life for Jesus followers is the life of Jesus, not the life of a hero in this world. What a challenging calling.
