The Stand We Take
As we continue our series in Esther, "When God Seems Invisible," we see now that Esther must take a stand. Probably no one thought it would come to this. But she could no longer hide who she was, a blood born child of the God of Israel. The risks are great, but doing nothing is not an option. Her first moves, as well as those of Mordecai, are surprising. Her stand seems humble and weak: grieving, fasting, praying. These do not seem to be bold heroic acts. Perhaps the way people of faith take a stand is different than others.
