This is a time where Christians need courage and strength to be strong. We are living in a culture that is in free fall in downward spiral of darkness, sin and rebellion against God. We must expect resistance, and persecution because we are followers of Jesus. The temptation and pressure will come for us to compromise, soften the message of the Gospel, go along to get along with the culture. We must seek the Lord for His strength and to give us the courage to be strong. We will examine the challenge Paul gives the church in Corinth and try to answer the question, “What does the courage to be strong look like?” Paul’s words in the passage will help us as we look at each phrase. Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love.
