This Sunday we will conclude our “Stubborn with God” series in Jonah. After the people were so responsive to Jonah’s message. He is furious and argues with God. He resents God’s compassion for lost people. As I thought about what is going on in the story, it occurred to me that you can hold to the truth of God without compassion, or you can hold to the truth of God with compassion. God has great compassion. Jonah did not. God tried to help him understand, but Jonah was a tough case. Sometimes followers of Jesus can have the same problem.
